I want these cameras!!!

I love taking pictures and I’m a trigger-happy person when it comes to camera. I am that camera user who clicks on clicks on just about any subject that caught my interest. I don’t consider myself as a photographer but I do love taking pictures of just about anything. My present camera is a point and shoot camera. I’ve been using my point and shoot camera for more than 2 years now. Actually, more than a year ago, I bought my first ever entry-level DSLR. However, after using it for more than 3 months, I just gave it to my sister. I just came into realization that it is such a hassle bringing a bulky camera specially that I am always on the go. I find it hard having a camera always dangling on my shoulder or a strap around my neck and it is such a hassle if I have to put it in my bag and then I have to open my bag again and get my DSLR in order to just take picture of something that attracted my attention.

Now, what I want is just a simple camera that I can use anywhere and anytime. I want a camera where I can just put in my pocket or I can carry or use without attracting too much attention from the crowd. I want a camera that I could just slip quickly to my pocket whenever I need to move to other destination or those moments that I need to catch a departing jeepney or a bus. I want a camera that I can use for zooming that subject while I’m on a ferry or inside a bus.

So now here are my wish lists of cameras and hopefully, I’ll be able to buy any of these cameras by the first quarter of 2013.

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS. This is the point and shoot camera for travellers. It is 12.1 megapixels with a 3-inch screen. This camera features a 20x superzoom and it is GPS-enabled.

Canon PowerShot D20

Canon PowerShot D20. The camera for the adventure junkie like me. This is Canon's second waterproof rugged camera. It’s a 12 megapixel camera with 5x zoom and it is waterproof to a depth of 10m and shockproof from a height of 1.5m. This camera is also GPS-enabled. Since I always go to the beach, and the mountains and I loved being in the water, this camera is perfect for me.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5. My alternative camera for bulky DSLR. This is Panasonic’s Interchangeable Lens camera. It’s a 12 megapixel camera.

My Islander Experience. It’s one tough sandal.

I always invest on travel gadgets since I travel a lot. Most of the time I buy things that are cheap but tough.  I also buy things that are expensive and I always crossed my fingers that all of it are worth the price. I have travel gears that are worth hundreds and thousands of pesos but I don’t have any six figure travel gear because for now, I can’t afford it, so dun muna ko sa mga kaya ko.hehehe!

Anyway, I already have several tough travel gears. I have a 3-year-old waterproof shockproof watch, a 3-year-old 65L backpack, a 2-year-old 35L backpack, a 2-year-old 25L backpack, a 3-year-old tent, and other stuff, but one of my toughest travel buddies is my sandal, my 2-year-old Islander sandal. Previously, I have a Merrell sandal but after it has been always dipped on salt water it easily gave up, nasira agad. I blamed my Merrell kasi ng dahil sa kanya, naghike ako ng nakapaa at naglakad sa Baguio City na sira ang suot.  Alam nyo naman siguro na medjo may kamahalan ang Merrell so nanghinayang ako sa sandals na yun kahit na nabili ko yun at a discounted price but hindi na sya marepair so I have no choice but to buy another sandal.

my Islander sandal

On that day na kailangan ko ng bumili ng bagong sandal, that was 2 years ago, I was having a difficulty on what brand to choose. I was planning to buy a Sandugo or a Habagat or a TNF or Columbia sandals. I was walking at the mall when I saw this Islander sandal, it looks so simple, tsinelas lang talaga sya. But what catches my attention was the design of the sandal. It has a non-slip design. So in short, binili ko yung Islander sandals. It cost me just 149.99 pesos for that sandals. Ngayon hindi ako nagsisisi that I bought an Islander sandals instead of Sandugo, Habagat, TNF or Columbia.

one tough Islander sandals

Two years in service na ang Islander kong tsinelas. It’s one of my cheapest and yet toughest travel gear. My Islander sandals have been to several provinces, to more than a dozen islands, have hiked to several mountains and have already endured some of the toughest terrain here in the Philippines. Mas madami pa ata napuntahan ang mura kong Islander tsinelas kesa sa havaianas sandals ng ibang tao na bahay-supermarket lang ang route.hahaha! Proud ako sa tsinelas ko because it keeps my feet safe from harm at proud ako dahil bukod sa mura na, matibay pa. My Islander sandal is one tough sandal. Isang malufet na tsinelas. Kaya ngayon, naniniwala na ko sa advertisement nila na Tibay Islander Sandal. Oh, by the way, I’m not in any way connected to the company that is manufacturing theIslander sandal.hehehe! Baka iniisip nyo na part ako ng marketing department nila or connected ako sa kanila. Bilib lang kasi ako sa tibay ng tsinelas ko, kya gusto ko lang ishare sainyo. So what are you waiting for, bili na din kayo ng Islander sandals nyo.hehehe!
